The hosts could not be happier that Far from the Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy made it onto our schedule. They enjoy getting back to their roots with some classic lit, and found FftMC a funny, progressive and thoroughly absorbing read.

The treatment of the Fanny Robin character was poorly handled in this movie and in the 1967 movie. Both movies treated the character like a plot device. Only the 1998 miniseries gave Fanny any real individuality.
